Joe has been involved with music
since he was 6 yrs old when he began taking piano lessons. From there
he learned to play the trumpet, then the tuba and finally the banjo.
Joe’s dad loved music, he played the trumpet and banjo a little
and always encouraged Joe and his two brothers and two sisters to play
an instrument. After college Joe started Medical school and it was difficult
to play any instrument because of the pressures there in, then in private
practice as well as Chairman of the Department of Nuclear Medicine at

Joe retired

Since then he has had a ball playing both. In Venice, with our own Gulf
Coast Banjo Society, he has also played regularly with the Dallas Banjo
Band, the Pittsburgh Banjo Band, the Erie Banjojammers and his home
town group, the Summer Strummers in Chautauqua NY during the summer
